Today was spent monitoring Tree Sparrows in South Wiltshire. The population here has crashed in the last couple of years making each of these chicks even more precious.

Another successful day at #projectpeewit . This farmer needed to know the location of the nest. Took me a couple minutes to find it. The bird was back on it in less than 3 minutes. Nest found, nest protected. Thank you to all the farmers out there doing so much for wildlife 🙏

Today was a good day, spent the morning monitoring Lapwing for #ProjectPeewit in the North Wessex Downs (can you spot the chicks) this afternoon was spent biking on Salisbury Plain monitoring Curlew (6 pairs observed) and I saw my first Swifts of the year this evening

Spending the afternoon out monitoring some of Wiltshire's last breeding Curlew as part of #WorldCurlewDay ; also enjoyimg some lovely weather. Sadly Curlew numbers across the county have crashed by around 90% in just a few decades. We are hard to try and save them.

It would have won in a relative landslide. Absolutely no doubt about it. This should be canon.
