Opening face-off 14 years ago today. Flyers defeat Rangers in shootout to gain final Eastern Conference playoff spot. Tonight, both coaches from my final NHL game have switched teams.

14 years ago today, Rangers played the Flyers on last day of regular season for final Eastern Conference playoff spot. Flyers won in shootout; my 1,904th & final game. Tonight, same two teams are playing each other but the same two coaches have switched teams! What are the odds?

In the early 1980’s this was how players routinely crashed the net 🤦‍♂️. SportsIllustrated PH SportsIllustrated selected this as a hockey picture of the year…OR was it Rugby Scrum pic of the year? I have a 23X19 framed copy in my Man-Cave.

Great news from NHL Public Relations regarding former colleague Steve Kozari medical update. All participants in a game risk serious injury every time they step on the ice. Thanks to fans who posted good wishes & kind comments for Steve. I think of family that were likely watching at home 🫶

Jason….you are correct on the Guessing Game; a 50-50 chance to be correct 🤷‍♂️. Move feet to obtain best unobstructed angle greatly reduces potential guess work. Players/Coaches r more accepting of a non-call if Ref explains he didn’t have a good look, wasn’t sure & not guessing.

So sorry for your loss Jenners. The Fraser Family has experienced similar loss. We prayerfully share in your pain.

Don’t know where this originated but I can tell you from personal experience Ray Ferraro is a true professional, his on/air perspectives are extremely enlightening & unbiased. Ray was always entertaining on the ice with his quick Witt…some of his comments made me laugh out loud.
