Opinion: Laken Riley's killing does reflect a broader danger. But it isn't 'immigrant crime' latimes.com/opinion/story/…

I received a call from the director of the Counseling Center, who tells me they are now open and available for support. That’s better! 💜

There was a murder-suicide on campus yesterday and the UCI Counseling Center is having a staff retreat today. I called to get some resources and learned no one is available to meet with students or staff (but they’ll be back in the office tomorrow!).

Do better, UC Irvine.

I am recruiting Asian American first-generation college students and their siblings in Southern California to learn more about family relationships and educational trajectories. I would really appreciate it if you could retweet/share my flyer!

Thank you so much to The Digital Library Federation for including Alexis @policyaspenal and I from UCI PrisonPandemic in the DHC closing plenary. We absolutely loved being a part of such a rich discussion on preserving and digitizing the voices of vulnerable populations.

From 2020-2022 I was on a project that collected real stories from real people who were incarcerated during the COVID-19 pandemic. There are no words to describe how amazing it felt to see all the hard work of so many (people who I look up to in so many ways) come off a computer.
