'Luddites'

200 years ago the forces of technological progress caused people to abandon 'wind power' on land and on the sea

Steam power was far superior to obsolete windmills and sails

Modern day Luddites are those who want us to go back to the bad old days

Not those who don't

'Energy Security'

UK's 'energy security' comes from buying electricity from France when - as often happens - the wind doesn't blow. Giving France huge leverage over us

We could instead use our own gas..and maybe lower prices too. But we banned fracking.

So haven't even looked

It is not 'cherry picking' to point out when 'wind power' lets us down and goes on strike.

Any more than it is 'cherry picking' for an investigator to focus on the last few minutes of a fatal air crash.

Because those are the times that count

India are celebrating that they mined 1,000,000,000 tonnes of coal and lignite last year

No madness for the world's most populous country

For every 1 person in UK, there are 20 in India

'Wind Power' today

Making just 4% of our electricity

Under 1% of our total energy

And with it's supposed to be the main way we get our energy to power our country

Bonkers

Time we started pointing it out

Not just watch as 'green' nutters destroy everything

I'm told '100% Renewable' is just an accountant's trick

Like 'biomass'

When they've too much 'renewable' they sell it to somebody else. When they haven't enough, they buy gas-or coal-powered to cover

The suppliers books balance at zero

But YOU've not got 100% renewable at all

'We'll make UK the Saudi Arabia of Wind!' boasted Boris Johnson.

Today its producing just under 2% of our electricity

A waste of our time. A waste of our money

Wind is unfit for purpose.

We knew this 200 years ago and junked it then

Which nutter ever thought to revive it?

If your electricity supplier has guaranteed you '100% Renewable Power', you might want to ask them to explain how they handled events like this

Or whether they're just ripping you off and lying.

How're Renewables doing right now?

Making 13% of our electricty (2.6% of our total energy)

But nearly all of that is 'biomass'

That's firewood chopped down in USA and shipped by diesel 3000 miles to pretend its 'green'.

An accountant's trick to fiddle the books

Disgraceful

A proud moment for British 'Wind Power'

As after 30 years of being papmpered and cossetted and subsidised big time, it can't even manage to make 1% of our electricity tonight.

Not 1/500th of our total energy needs

An absolute disgrace!

I hope execs are hanging their heads

Oh No!

UK Wind Power was on strike for 4 days from Saturday to Wednesday.

It seemed to have gone back to work yesterday evening.

But now its walked out again!

Below 10% of electricity (2% of total energy) since 08:00

If wind worked for me, I'd sack it!

Unreliable.

The absolute worst that anybody in US can say about fracking is that in some isolated instances untreated water drunk straight frrom a local farm well might have tasted a bit funny.

Which does not sound like a catastrophe to me.

Fracking:

USA: Over 1 million wells fracked. Population happy with low fuel and natural gas prices

UK: No wells fracked. Population terrified of it

Go figure

Poncing electricity off other folk is not a long-term answer to UK's energy needs

But its part of what kept our lights on earlier this week when 'wind power' went on strike

We need to do better

For the last 4 days, fossil fuels made over 75% of UK's total energy needs

'Wind power' under 2%

But under ALL the fossil fuels have to go.

Everything electrified

And wind must be the majority electricity supplier.

There's no other choice

is nuts!
