The infected blood scandal happened because we lowered standards to save £

Cheap blood was bought from prisons in the US - It was known to be riskier but cheaper

Thousands of patients were exposed to this known risk by complicit Doctors

Dropping standards for convenience is

Some people really see training opportunities in healthcare (operating on patients!) as little more than getting a turn at playing a PlayStation

There's a reason not just anyone gets a go

No MSPs baby needing care would be looked after by a Physician Associate, and no Consultant Paediatrician would allow it for theirs either for that matter

Phone calls would be made and an experienced Doctor would somehow be much more available

So hold on...

Even the current incompetent UK Government are starting pay talks with the BMA Resident Doctors before the Scottish Government?

Is the Scottish Health Secretary on Furlough?

WTF is going on in Aberdeen at NHS Grampian

This is not safe for patients

ScotGov need to step in and freeze the recruitment of further PAs until we know the evidence base around their use per RCPEdin

This is experimentation on patients

A major part of why conditions are better in Australia and New Zealand is that Doctors defend their contractual rights at work

If you do not complete Exception Reporting, Rota Monitoring or don't claim additional PAs then you are part of the problem in the UK

There are people in power who are trying to convince patients* that they don't need Doctors to deliver complex care

*our poorest, most vulnerable patients.

No MP will have their operation done by anyone but a proper Surgeon

The last 3 months of NI Executive have shown us little of tangible actions from Department of Health other than an undeniable ability to alienate, frustrate and ultimately dispute with all branches of hospital doctors.

BMA NI Junior Doctors Committee 48hr strike from 22nd May-24th May is not inevitable.

A laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a major operation with significant major potential complications, including mortality. Even as consultants, there is a great deal of scrutiny on the number of cases and the complication rate.

It is also an excellent training procedure for

How can some Consultants and Royal Colleges be so out of touch with those who will very soon be the next Consultants?

The NHS has tried to provide equal access to expert, Consultant doctor-led care for all

We worry about two tier healthcare but this is three tier

- Private Health for the richest
- Consultant led NHS care for the privileged
- Non-Doctor delivered care for the least privileged

There is growing anger felt by 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Resident Doctors

The only reason Ministers have been able to brag of the lack of strikes is that they promised timely pay talks for 2024/25

Many of us want a hard deadline for talks, which if broached should mean a strike ballot
