Listening to Big Black in the gym bathroom right now and I can’t leave cuz I’m crying like a bitch

Currently working on a really downbeat and sad trap/wave/electropop track. We really believe in the songwriting, but don't know how to market it or what audience to pitch it to. I'm sure there's artists that make similar stuff out there, but we don't know them. Sad driving music.

One night I was with Pete while unmedicated and paranoid. I was so tired but couldn't sleep coz I thought he would leave in the night. I drifted off but woke up seconds later, terrified. Pete was still there and never left, but this track explores the paranoia of that experience.

I have schizophrenia. Back when I was unmedicated, I thought that Pete was an actor hired to kill me. But I loved his company so much that I wanted to be with him anyway. 'Closer' is about that feeling. Now I'm medicated and we've been together eight years ❤️❤️

So I wrote a song about maggots trying to eat a corpse but being blocked by the coffin. Or maybe, it's about intergenerational wealth being locked away from the working class by systematic inequalities? 🤔🤔

I was once had a partner who was too cowardly to tell me he wanted to leave. He would say that he loved me, but his actions were intentionally cruel. I believed his words, so I would always find excuses for his behaviour. ‘Drive’ imagines a world where he just said how he felt.

When I was a kid I was obsessed with watching Sailor Moon in the morning. When we’re children, we imagine ourselves as heroes. But at a certain point, we realise that we aren’t. Growing up is a disappointment. We make mistakes and we have regrets. All we can do is try to be good.
