Trumpet has probably already given names to her pups but we're helping her out, just in case!

9 wolf packs are known to call the Netherlands home. Researchers estimate the country can accomodate 23-56 wolf family groups.

The # of packs will depend on how picky the wolves are about habitat/landscapes.

Trumpet's pups are now 4 weeks old + they're growing bigger every day! On average, wolf pups grow 2-3 lbs per week during the first few months.

Poor Trumpet is ready for a break 🫠

Although Trumpet is busy raising newborn pups, she still has to mother her other children - they want quality time with mom, too!

A study in @‌nature exposed that between 2004 & 2019, average annual wolf mortality increased from 21.7% before hunting seasons to 43.4% during AND AFTER hunting seasons including a more than TRIPLING of human caused wolf mortality.

Neck snares are still regularly used by Canadian fur trappers despite being widely banned across Europe + much of the US. 1 trapper killed 12 wolves near Banff National Park - conceivably 2 entire packs.

There's no place for trapping in the 21st century.
