On April 16th, Ambassador Duarte Lopes participated in the Johns Hopkins University Science and Diplomacy Summit 2024 at Bloomberg Center, taking part in a conversation about #Science #Diplomacy , moderated by Professor Peter Agre.
Portugal welcomes the 🇺🇲 #USCongress approval of 61 Billion USD aid package to Ukraine. Together with the 🇪🇺 we #standwithUkraine in defending our common democratic values and principles.
A word of appreciation to Rachel Kallander, CEO and founder of Arctic Encounter, for this successful gathering of expertise around Arctic opportunities and challenges, as well as their impact on the rest of the world, including maritime countries like Portugal.
#Alaska : Amb. Duarte Lopes participated in the Arctic Encounter, having intervened on the panel “One World, One Ocean: Fish Stocks in Motion and the Blue Economy”, where he talked about the #BlueEconomy , with an emphasis on sustainable fishing, energy transition, and biotechnology.
Given the twin challenges of an aggressive #Russia & accelerating #ClimateChange , Alaska and the EU have plenty in common.
Grateful to discuss these priorities with AK leaders Mayor Dave Bronson (Anchorage, AK) Parody Account, Lt. Governor Nancy Dahlstrom, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, plus the wise insight of the Northern Vision Fellows.

Fruitful visit to #Arizona . In just 3 days, 22 EU DCMs met members from the state House of Representatives, addressed local dignitaries including Honorary Consuls, interacted with Arizona State University students/faculty, and visited CPLC.
