Questions: 1) If Bibi didn't clear the strike on the Iranian generals with the US, why is the US giving him this support? 2) If Bibi did clear the strike with the US, why did the US give him a green light? Either way, this is completely indefensible US policy.

The goal of 'eliminating' Hamas never made sense as anything other than a smart political move by Netanyahu--a way to prolong war and so prolong his career. It was an obviously bad goal from the pov of US (even Israeli) interests. Yet Biden/Blinken/Sullivan bought into it.
