To the extent that 'deserve' has anything to do with anything, THE FALL GUY deserves to become a big hit. It's made with a deftness and a lightness of touch that I would not have expected from the director of BULLET TRAIN (or even ATOMIC BLONDE, which I like a lot).

I love X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, but every time I watch it, I'm struck anew that the best wording they could come up with for their central question was, 'is the future ever truly set?' -- 'set'??? Such a mealy-mouthed good-enough, worked-over, second-draft word.

Among several jump scares for E during THE MUMMY (1999): Rick abruptly kissing Evie for the first time. (Whereas subsequent times, it's more of a standard gross-out.)
