I admire the action being taken by this diverse group of students of all faiths - including Jewish, Christian, and Muslim - united against genocide.

The children they stole these toys from will have been driven from largely destroyed homes.

Many will be maimed. Many will have lost loved ones. Some will be killed.

All survivors will be traumatised for life.

Look at the joy on the faces of the soldiers who did all that.

Calling in police enforcement on nonviolent demonstrations of young students on campus is an escalatory, reckless, and dangerous act.

It represents a heinous failure of leadership that puts people’s lives at risk. I condemn it in the strongest possible terms.

We live in a world where *mass graves* in Gaza get less media coverage than a college campus in New York City.

How are news outlets dedicating wall-to-wall coverage to campus protests, but not the discovery of mass graves in Gaza of people with their hands tied & clothing stripped?

Why do we not know more?

Where are the journalists and resources being dedicated to that story?

Throughout history, protests were co-opted and made to look bad so police and public leaders would shut them down. That’s what we are seeing now at Columbia University. The Columbia protesters have made clear their demands and want their school not to be complacent in the ongoing

How did we get a point where people are more worried that Jewish students at Columbia feel uncomfortable by chants to end Israel's genocide in Gaza than they are worried about the safety of the people facing a genocide?
