The best time to write a poem

I need to record audio for two poems that will be published next month and instead of “poetry voice” I’m thinking of reading in that unmistakeable tone of someone who doesn’t like poetry and believes what they’re reading makes absolutely no sense.

It’s amazing how many meditations are “dazzling” when they take the form of a book being reviewed.

When I meditate, it’s usually kinda boring.

Finished the work that makes me money, which means I now get to resume work on the work that makes me little to no money.

(The truth is I love all of it.)

ICYMI, my latest poem appears in the latest issue of Discretionary Love.

Our local library is having a no-fee contest to celebrate National Poetry Month.

Wrote a poem last night that I actually like, and entered it.

Honestly, the fact librarians are judging this and will therefore be reading my work already feels like a win.

One of my freelance clients unexpectedly told me today they are increasing my fee, which was communicated via a nice note of thanks.

To say this doesn’t happen everyday is an understatement and I am both grateful and moved.

This is me writing my way to the point I feel confident enough to submit my poems to The New Yorker and The Paris Review.

They’re giving out free bookmarks in honour of National Poetry Month at my local library and I quite like them!

It was so bright out today!

So glad the sun was eclipsed yesterday and as a result became more motivated to do its best work.

Just found my AirPods after a day of searching everywhere. What a relief.

Had no idea how I was going to work out in silence.
