No. As Satterfield’s recent comments made clear, they already know Biden’s red line has been violated. What they’re assessing is whether this latest atrocity makes it too politically costly to keep pretending otherwise.

Gathering the best and brightest minds to debate whether or not this was an acceptable number of displaced children burned alive in their tent camp axios.com/2024/05/27/raf…

Never again means never again for all of humanity. Palestinian poet Najwan Darwish implores us to remember all genocide victims. Today — especially today — I remember the Armenians, the Bosnian Muslims, the Jewish people.

Israel is crossing President Biden’ redlines by:

1) executing a major offensive in Rafah that is decimating civilians who sought shelter there

2) displacing hundreds of thousands more without adequate food or shelter

3) continuing to restrict aid delivery

Yet Biden keeps sending arms.

This was just 2 days ago. Tonight Israel appears to have answered by bombing, eviscerating parts of West Rafah where displaced people were sheltering in tents. Aid groups say at least 50 charred bodies recovered so far, children, women burned alive. Every red line crossed.

There is no other way to say this: the (lack of) reaction to the scenes of sheer carnage, burned refugee bodies, and decapitated babies coming out of Rafah tonight from the U.S. political and media establishments is nothing other than the normalizing, the banalizing, of genocide.

Horrific scenes from Rafah tonight.
Too awful to re post- charred and decapitated bodies of children.
And all while the world watches.
I truly hope that in my lifetime we see those in power held to account - those who could have stopped this and failed to do so
The appalling

can't stop thinking about the photo of the IDF soldier proudly posing in front of the Gaza university library he set on fire after a weeks-long meltdown in U.S. media about student protesters setting up tents on lawns

It's very simple.

If we lose the Cows' Garden, we lose the Armenian Quarter.

If we lose the Armenian Quarter, we lose the millenia-old Armenian presence in Jerusalem.

Not. On. Our. Watch.

On this day, the 70th anniversary of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education ruling, I reflect on the fact that 75 percent of Black children learn in segregated, unequal schools today. And that a decade after I told our profession that our failure to cover segregation meant we

Just want to underscore the level of heroism underway here: Sen. Tammy Duckworth has been working to evacuate Dr. Adam Hamawy (who saved her life after her helicopter crash) from the hospital the IDF is besieging and bombing. But he and his colleagues have insisted they not leave
