Ah 1861 Restaurant With Rooms you did it again. Fantastic food, Great Host and Service, and a Wonderful 50th Birthday meal for our pal. Best place to eat (or stay!) in the county in my opinion
Sunday lunch 1861 Restaurant With Rooms. Star dish: Dessert, banana soufflée. Perfectly risen, gentle banana, fluffy and gooey round the edges tempered with a dark deep bitter chocolate sauce and a toffee ice cream. Superbly conceived and executed. Best sweet soufflée we have ever eaten.
Exemplary lunch at 1861 Restaurant With Rooms Cheese beignets, light as a feather but still super cheesy with a rich tomato sauce
Our veggie mains 1861 Restaurant With Rooms nettle risotto for M and pumpkin & Sage risotto for Mme. Both delicious and an excellent salad spiked with pickled shallots and beetroot.
Sunday lunch 1861 Restaurant With Rooms modern dishes, classic style. Creamy, balanced pumpkin & sage risotto (starter size). Woodland mushroom fricassée in a pastry case, rich savoury, creamy sauce, perfectly roasted winter veg. Crisp pastry. Pumpkin & orange palette cleanser.
