I popped into The New Bookshop in Cockermouth this morning. It's a lovely bookshop and very busy, which is great to see. When I get back home from my holidays, I'm going to send them a proof of Hopefully, they'll like it enough to order a few copies.

That’s crazy, Mark. In the good old days of British Rail we had trains from Workington to Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith, a proper station at Maryport and a decent warm waiting room at Whitehaven Bransty. I remember it well!

two wayward quakers stare at the baltic sea. one looks at the other asking if he’s familiar with the body of water. he says it reeks of herring, but the defendants of cockermouth say all water is holier than thee. while they’re blathering, some pagans steal their mead and slacks.

Threlkeld Quarry originally formed to supply the Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway with ballast
It also provided ballast for the Crewe-Carlisle line

It wasn't only the quarry workers who took the Boer Train, but Mr Bragg the manager, his sons and office staff
