Bonjour. On this day in 1562 legend says that a band of French Huguenots landed at the mouth of the river behind me. They named it the May River. They would found Ft Caroline in 1564 which led to St Augustine being settled in 1565.

Lorenzo Davids I’m white.French huguenots ancestry. Im not ashamed of being white or being the son of a settler. This is my country too, I love it, and all its people. I work every day to make it a better place. I’m tired of corrupt, lazy politicians that are destroying the country.

Look what I found on YouTube: my one and only spouse Susan Roberts sings fantastic aria from “Les Huguenots” by Giacomo Meyerbeer with Wiesbaden State Opera & Siegfried Köhler, conductor. The date 1976 is wrong - she was there from 1982-85 (and we met in 1980😎❤️)

“No, you can’t be an ethnonationalist!!!!

You’re mixed!!!!

What about the Huguenots and Normans?? Nobody is pure anything!”

Meanwhile 90% of my ancestors come from the area on the right roughly the size of Pennsylvania and Maryland.

I've posted this before because I like it.
My father's surname, DeCamp, is Walloon. They were areligious Huguenots.
Regardless which team—political, religious, militant, or ideological—you can't threaten me into wearing your stupid fucking badge.
We founded the US to escape that.

10. CHARLES IX—The French king. Urged on by his mother, he gave the order for the massacre of the French Huguenots, in which 15,000 souls were slaughtered in Paris alone and 100,000 in other sections of France, for no other reason than that they loved Christ. The guilty king

May 17, 2024: St. Paschal Baylon
Today is celebrated the feast of a holy Franciscan lay brother of Spain. He is the Patron of all associations dedicated to the Holy Eucharist. He was nearly killed by Huguenots when defending the Real Presence against a French Calvinist minister.

15 May 1858. The present Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London, was opened. It was designed by Sir Edward Barry, and constructed by Frederick Gye. The first production was the grand opera Les Huguenots by Giacomo Meyerbeer. It’s the 3rd Theatre on the same site.

Another supposed difference between the Zionists and settler colonialism is the persecuted status of the earlier colonists. This is simply bad history.

The Boers fled the authoritarian VOC, while both the Pilgrims and Huguenots escaped religious persecution in particular.

Been seeing a really stupid take lately that the French revolution wouldn't have ever happened if France had become Calvinist.

Which is especially retarded considering that both the Huguenots and the Dutch reformed are among the founders of republican thought.

Of interest: Did you know that most French Huguenots originated from Normandy, which was conquered by Norse peoples in the 1000's? They are described as being difficult to rule, restless but with a fondness for order. Sounds remarkably like Boer people, doesn't it? Genes. Amazing
