I should have stayed another day because I didn't allocate nearly enough time to the Art Institute. That said I would have stayed there longer had I realised that Navy Pier had become Child Central. As a result I stayed on the bus and got off at the next stop for some shopping.

After yesterday it's another glorious day in Chicago that's expected to get to 19C. On my penultimate day I've got tickets for the BigBus hop on/hop off tour, plus tickets for the Art Institute and their Van Gogh exhibition. I'll round it off with a visit to Navy Pier. 😁

Phil Sledge My big lad Badger. He developed cancer in his gum and was put to sleep in April. I miss him very much.

The first formal dinner of the trip tonight Harry Caray's. A pork chop served with garlic mash and a glass of 3 Floyds Zombie Dust IPA. It was finished off (as was I) by a Hot Fudge Brownie, because why not? It's my last night. Holy Cow! as Harry was known to remark. 😁

Sugaray Rayford who was next up put that right. At the end of his set I retired back to the hotel. It's been full sun and 29C all day here and I was beaten down by it. Despite the liberal application of factor 50, I suspect my arms and legs will be sore tomorrow. 🫤

That's it. I watched Lil' Ed & the Blues Imperials & then called it a day on #ChicagoBluesFestival . I've had an absolute ball over the weekend & whilst I've missed Anne, it's been hugely liberating just doing what I wanted to do. Now it's dinner & Sunday Night Baseball. 😊
