Fantastic news from this morning's PAC meeting: Minnesota Department of Transportation will begin studying a heavy rail connection between Target Field and Union Depot for the Twin Cities - Milwaukee - Chicago corridor. This should not only serve Amtrak, but commuter/regional trains as well. I-94 Rail Coalition

People using the Stone Arch Bridge tonight. The iconic bridge over the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis will close next month for crossing for the next 2 summers. MNDOT apparently hasn't been able to find a way to keep a path open for crossing during a repair project.

In honor of Worker Memorial Day, the I-35W Bridge in Minneapolis will be lit orange tonight. Today, and every day, we remember the 36 MnDOT employees and 16 contractors who lost their lives while working on Minnesota highways since 1960.

I love how other cities like Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston are like 'We should make our commuter rail systems hourly or better bi-directional service' while MNdot wants to extend two trains to St. Cloud and add 4 new trains... by the mid/late 2030s

Main St. on the west side of Hwy 169 is officially closed. Those looking to access Carsen Ave. businesses will need to take Hwy 10 or Gates Ave. The east side of Hwy 169 at Main St. will remain open for the time being. Minnesota Department of Transportation
