Due to favourable weather conditions, firefighers across NSW are undertaking several hazard reductions burns, including in the Snowy Valleys, Sutherland, Sydney and Blue Mountains. Smoke from these burns is likely to settle in low lying areas overnight. rfs.nsw.gov.au/hr

Hundreds of volunteers are giving up their weekend to conduct crucial hazard reduction burns, with over 10,000ha being treated. Smoke from these burns is settling across a broad area & may linger until mid week when a wind change and possible showers will help to clear the smoke.

Firefighters working to contain a bushfire burning sth of Wyee Rd near Doyalson (Central Coast LGA)
Wyee Rd has been closed to allow firefighters to conduct a backburn.
No threats to nearby homes & firefighters are confident they will have the fire contained this evening.
