Iowa City, Chris Wiersema (44) died suddenly on Wed, March, 2024 unexpectedly, but peacefully in his sleep.

'I got my Jab at North Dodge, hy-vee y'all. No driving hours across the (R)ed prairie tundra, just rolled out a bed and fell into the needlework.'

This lunch time it’s mending malaise traps. This one had a large vertebrate go through it…

…but I’m bringing it back to life!

Can’t quite imagine Andy Warhol as a keen reader of Needlework Magazine, but here’s an ad from a 1930 issue of that magazine, & Warhol’s later work “Campbell’s Soup Cans', which has been described as the “defining creation of the Pop Art Movement” (1962)

Some unfinished needlework from 17th century
For all of us with unfinished projects. It happens.

It happened then too.

Also known as ‘The Little Gidding Cabinet’, this needlework casket was probably the work of one of the Miss Colletts, nieces of Nicholas Ferrar who founded the Little Gidding community in Huntingdonshire in 1626. (Royal Collection Trust, HM CIII)

Hand Sewing Thread | -Sashiko-

Discover the art of Sashiko, a form of needlework that has been developed as both a decorative and functional technique in Japan.
Sashiko - Japanese embroidery, meaning 'little stabs,' beautifully mends and reinforces garments.

I have a feeling this is not going to go well. Sofa tear repair updates incoming. If only ⁦Harmeet K. Dhillon⁩ was here to advise on needlework… sigh.
