🌎 Excited to share a major update of the DreamerV3 agent!

A couple of smaller changes, more benchmarks, and substantially improved performance.

👇 Main differences from our earlier preprint:

Lazaridis 2024 preprint models BPgroup with Russia_Samara_HG, CHG and TTK.

I ran the model on PG2004 with the same setup and it passes with p=0.8.

Same model with TUR_NevaliCori_N and Levant_PPN as outgroups fails w/p=0.02. gendstats tell us that NevaliCori is lacking in model.

'There are no atheists in foxholes.'

A recent preprint looked into this aphorism and found that there's some truth to it.

They figured this out with the help of convolutional neural networks that took images of gravestones like these and scanned them for religious imagery.

1/42 New preprint: turns out MuLTEE is not only the longest running multicellularity evolution experiment (1000 days and counting), but also the longest running polyploidy evolution experiment! It reveals how whole-genome duplication (WGD) arises and impacts long-term evolution.

“Are you all seeing a bunch of news stories where people have new onset glioblastoma? I am.

I did a little search and found a preprint study linking the shot to glioblastoma.

But in my search, I noticed some other brain problems after the shot.

I think there’s exactly zero

✨New preprint ✨

So pleased to share my first ever paper from Amanda Eve Rossiter’s lab at IMIBirmingham. Here, we used multiplex imaging to show a correlation between H. pylori and invasion of gastric microbiota during gastric cancer development 🧫 doi.org/10.1101/2024.0…

Hugely important preprint for pronatal policy.

What happens when you exogenously 1) INCREASE WORK INCENTIVES by 2) boosting household returns to work but 3) you accidentally and randomly make it a gender-specific benefit?

Fertility both rises AND falls.

In our new preprint we imaged actin filaments in very fast moving Plasmodium falciparum sporozoites. We shed some light on the mechanism of gliding motility and find unexpectedly long and large actin bundles in the cytoplasm and nucleus!

$1.10 on Sept announcement that nature preprint indicates over 10 yr survival vs 16mo average.

Explosive headline news.

Tic fucking tock MF. Way overdue.

Prints on sun & wens UK time. $1.10 vs God knows what on publication. Easily $2+ gap fill + News Squeeze. $nwbo

We have a new preprint out - your language model is not a reward, it’s a Q function!
1. The likelihood of the preferred answer must go down - it’s a policy divergence
2. MCTS guided decoding on language is equivalent to likelihood search on DPO
3. DPO learns credit assignment

PREPRINT: Being rich does not shield you from bad financial decisions. Being poor doesn't mean you make fewer good ones. Across six countries, we again find that economic environment is far stronger at influencing choice biases than income.

Happy to announce our new preprint on the ancestry of cell adhesion and self-recognition in animals! We used proteomics and structure-based searches to re-examine the Aggregation Factor from the classical sponge mode first studied by Henry Wilson in 1907! doi.org/10.1101/2024.0…
