Amidst the celebration of Freyja's birthday, Alystair has asked her to officially be his girlfriend, even though they've been together for a while now. Formalities and all...
They made their way upstairs to a cauldron where they could test their potion making skills, and Molly could tell Freyja some things. 'We've been waiting for your return since Selene tried to kill you.' She sighed, 'You should know what happened when Claire killed the sages.'
As Frejya touched upon the magic realm for the second time ever, the realm shook with her unlocked power. The power of the sages shook the realm to its core. Every spellcaster felt the burden of the realm lighten. They all feared her. She closed her eyes and centered herself.
Freyja rushes out of the house as her emotions consume her. Her entire family was gone. Francesca would be gone in the next few days. Everything had been ripped from her. She looked to the friendship bracelet still on her wrist. She would never forgive herself for disappearing.
The two catch up. Francesca shows Freyja photos of Eloise, Héctor, Tonya, and herself as a family. They seemed happy, but she made sure Freyja understood she was never forgotten. Eloise never gave up on looking for her, but they knew they couldn't live in the past forever.
'The next three strongest families of our kind banded together and sacrificed themselves, giving all of their power to a single person they thought powerful enough to contain their magic and stabilize the realm, but the vessel couldn't contain the power within and failed.'
An elderly woman comes to the door, 'Yes? May I help you?'
Freyja was confused. Who was this woman? Maybe they had hired a new maid, or she could be a family friend. 'I'm looking for my mother. Is Eloise home?'
Since awakening this is the house Freyja, Alystair, and Daniela have been staying in. A run-down estate in Forgotten Hallow, a place where they could be free to teach her both magic and what it means to be a vampire.
Freyja feels a million emotions. It feels like only a year ago she was playing with her sister and putting her to bed as an infant. The weight of these emotions starts to crack through her control, and she feels her hunger roaring to be set free.
After drinking for Alystair, his power runs through her, making her even stronger. She can feel the untamed power raging within her. Life would be simpler if she only had master one occult, but on top of vampirism she was also a spellcaster.
Freyja's sorrow quickly shifts to rage, and she can no longer see straight. Was this what Daniela meant when she said she could never go home? The betrayal left a bitter taste. Her rage was uncontrollable and grew until there was nothing left besides the monster. Time to feed...
'Not until she lost control and killed Morgyn. When his power was drained everyone felt it. There wasn't any time to react. Claire went insane after her love died. In her blind rage she overpowered and killed the remaining sages.'
Freyja wasn't quite ready to be flying about and using her dark powers. She lost control and gave Daniela the opportunity to swoop in and mop the floor with her.
'Maybe next time. Little doll.' Daniela's laugh was haunting, but there was an undertone of care in there somewhere.
