If you want to call into question the intelligence, morality or indignation of student protestors, you may want to rethink your position.

This UniversityofChicago student wrote his Gaza dissertation — freestyle — in real time on camera. What a performance.

Disturbed by chants of ‘From the river to the sea’ and the unholy alliance between religion and politics on the UofC campus today. Such slogans do not represent a path to peace or justice.

I visited the UniversityofChicago encampment where calls for violence against Jews is celebrated. For years, Jewish students have faced unrelenting antisemitism on campus. UofC says the encampment violates university policy & students will be held accountable. It's Day 4 & we're still waiting.

This is my friend Hunter, one of UofC Grad Student Association's newest exec at an ANDP presser and he's absolutely right!
Recent (overdue) federal increases to research funding should absolutely not be hindered by political ideology.

After the two groups mostly separated on their own, a small squad of UCPD (note: not CPD, UofC has a very large private police force) moved between them.

Agitators have harassed this camp all week. Today is no exception—nothing was instigated on the Palestinian liberation side.

I really like this from the UniversityofChicago president: 'Discord is almost required for the truth-seeking function of a university to be genuine.'

Robust free speech isn't pretty. Rules will be broken. We have to exercise prudence in figuring out how to enforce the rules.

President Alivisatos of UniversityofChicago is a brilliant man who I deeply admire. With his words and deeds, he manages to shine a light through darkness that has engulfed many others. Well done.

Today I sent a letter to UniversityofChicago President Paul Alivisatos in defense of peaceful protest and demonstration at campus encampments. To create a better world, we need to model the behavior we want to see in it. I urge the administration to negotiate.

Two days after police arrested 68 protesters at the Art Institute, the mayor is apparently taking no questions at either of today's pressers.

Were he, I'd ask why he didn't issue a statement emphasizing deescalation (as he did for the UofC), and why SWAT was brought in
