It's just pseudo-invasion (epithelial misplacement) in an adenoma, but the hemosiderin deposition is striking. Curiously, mostly non-neoplastic mucosa has prolapsed into the submucosa since adenomas have 'top-down' growth. #UMiamiPath

Pleomorphic Adenoma of the lower eyelid misdiagnosed as recurrent chalazion. Most of the pleomorphic adenomas arise from the lacrimal gland or the upper eyelid. #eyetwitter ow.ly/uzL150QK5ag
Glad I stayed till the end to listen to NickSchieda's excellent talk on adrenal incidentalomas.
Highlighting:
1️⃣the (extremely) high pretest probability of being adenomas
2️⃣pitfalls of CT (unenhanced and adrenal washout)
3️⃣'If' you decide to do imaging, MRI>adrenal washout CT
Permission from Sarah to share this image of 2 adenomas removed by SK Oxford. Both ultrasound & nuclear scans only showed superior left. I'd like every scan guided #parathyroid surgeon to read this & consider outcomes for their own patients. This is a common finding.
