Seems most still following the Lammergeier herd and walking up from Strines: see maps, this is longest and least direct route with very limited parking. Fairholmes shortest and best chance of views on way, Lost Lad/ Back Tor best viewing if you don't fancy final struggle to roost

A stunner of a day here. Dams still frozen. Road better than yesterday but still not advisable unless in a 4x4. Fairholmes is closed today apart from the toilets. Hope to be all open again tomorrow. Stay warm and enjoy your snow day.

Popped down Fairholmes today to drop in on the Severn Trent open session. It went quite well, with meetings with them lined up for early December.

Another 1st for me. Crook Hill. Can’t believe I’ve never been before. Amazing views. Berts has loved it. Made it back before the rain finally arrived. Shared a sausage and bacon sandwich with my boy, at Fairholmes cafe. All good for a Friday off work 👍

The A57 Snake Pass will remain closed after recent heavy rainfall caused several sections of the road to slip.
A decision was made to close the road from Fairholmes car park at Ladybower Reservoir to Glossop to protect road users.

Gentle reminder y’all … t’Snake Pass A57 will be closed to all traffic for five days from Monday May 22nd for resurfacing works to be carried out at Gillot Hey and Wood Cottage. Closed to wheels and feet of all kinds from beyond Derwent Lane (to Fairholmes) to Snake summit. 😏.
