#gtlds are unique

The biggest opportunity in domain name investing is exploiting niches that other people ignore & not singing the same song as everyone else. The idea that GTLDs are useless is not accurate in my humble opinion.

The global TLD market report has been released, estimating a total of 3.6 to 3.7 billion domain names, encompassing 1,456 top-level domains. Their distribution is roughly as follows: .com accounts for 45%, ccTLDs account for 38%, and all other gTLDs account for 17%. #domainnames

Google Registry owns gTLDs .meme, .ing and .new. Recently, Google blocked the registration of the domain names gemini.meme and gemini.new.

Last year, Google registered bard.meme and bard.ing for Google Bard.

is the same said of DNS for the *hundreds* of new gTLDs that are added in iCANN rounds? Do you see every .io, .org, .xyz, .ai, .bot, .id, etc owner complaining? 😂

this is the ideal, natural progression of ENS.

In 2022, I purchased about 900 .xyz domains. Almost all my domains were .xyz. Out of these, I sold only two for a total of $2299. I dropped the rest. In 2023, I diversified my portfolio with non .xyz, but still new gTLDs and I sold 10 domains, grossing just over $10,000.
