Trevor Lee Sharon obviously what's now known as the state of Utah was populated by Shoshone, Gosiutes, Ute, Paiutes, and Navajo people long before Mormons arrived. Spanish Mexican and American non-Mormon priests, trappers, and explorers also made it possible for Mormons to 'found' Utah.
