I see now. I’ve put it together. Women aren’t choosing the bear because they’ve gamed it out based on logic and available evidence and soberly determined a lower chance of danger (basic innumeracy of that sort might even be endearing). Of course.

these morons get all excited about putting on some clothes, but couldnt give a shit about their bastard children, illiteracy or innumeracy rates, unemployment or crime rates, their lack of responsible realistic role models and leaders, or their bleak futures.

convinced that half the problem right now is widespread innumeracy. if half the country catches the virus, then a “low” 3 percent mortality rate means upwards of 5 million deaths.

So this Liberal Party shill is asserting that ppl earning <$80k were better off on the LNPs tax cut proposal. Whenever they open their gob on economic matters, they inevitably demonstrate their functional innumeracy. Always predictable, never fails.

This is one of those things were you see a weird 'innumeracy' or inability to reason spatially.

Most people clearly don't grasp that the *only* way for adult kids to stay in a neighborhood near parents is to build many more dwelling units.

You can't 'preserve the character.'

The other day I was banging on about a brilliant Superman story from the classic Hitman 27 . Of course, as is clearly displayed on the front cover, it's actually issue 34 as pointed out to me by astute youth John McCrea @ drawing Dead Eyes atm. Regardless of my innumeracy, its still brilliant.

Elon Musk is absolutely right about this. Journalistic innumeracy is damaging in many ways, and editors should put an end to it. x.com/elonmusk/statu…

But 3 of many examples where Dan Murphy's everyday pricing on the 1L bottle is a 12-19% PREMIUM per ml to the 700ml bottle. Notably, alcohol is exempt from ASIC Media's Unit Pricing Code. Feels like an oversight on direct comps & Uncle Dan is milking it with a tax on innumeracy.

Illiteracy is rare but innumeracy is prevalent. Anyone fighting for better India should at least learn how to parse numbers.

Nearly every time I write about economic growth, I get an email, DM, voice message or online comment to the effect of:

I don't want my community to grow, I like it how it is except I want my grandkids to have a job and home here.

The daft innumeracy of this is maddening.

Recorded a great chat for Infinite Loops 🎙 with John Allen Paulos, a math professor who has endeavored to help people become more comfortable with math—I loved his books 'Innumeracy' and 'A Mathematician Plays the Stock Market' and highly recommend all of his books.

Fascinating paper by Emanuel Deutschmann explains the intriguing conflict ‘wisdom of crowds’ and ‘immigration innumeracy’ (= systematic overestimation of the % immigrants).
Removing the rounded estimates (5, 10,…) produces an accurate estimate!!
