Highway 1 is closed at Palo Colorado due to a slip-out near Rocky Creek. The southbound lanes have been lost and northbound lanes potentially impacted. Caltrans engineers will assess conditions this evening/tomorrow morning. The current closure now extends south to Limekiln.

Lots of work ongoing by Waterways Ireland around the harbour, behind the #LimeKiln & around Mooney's Bridge.

Lots of birdsong, some ducklings on canal & birds of prey spotted overhead.

Recce for the next SPAB field limekiln. Late 19thC walled garden cob wall, brick piers and bungaroush style aggregate. Loved tracking down the old chalk pit (on the lime/clay geological boundary next to Kiln Cottage - clue is in the name) and finding a pig in residence.
