Smudge 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Daniel Pagella Forgotten Heroes 14 -19 Foundation @ManbreWharf From my POV you hit the nail twice (1) what is seen as a “British perspective” (2) people taking less notice of history. Hence it’s important that while this history is accessible it is documented. Hopefully in time to come that said perspective is naturally all encompassing.

Daniel Pagella Forgotten Heroes 14 -19 Foundation @ManbreWharf How have the Muslim soldiers been forgotten? Why do we have to try and make it about religion all the time? We don’t talk about Christian, Hindu or Jewish soldiers etc. They are all “soldiers “.

AndyRay Daniel Pagella Forgotten Heroes 14 -19 Foundation @ManbreWharf But that’s surely because in the main we would naturally get the British version of that part of history. Should you study the wars in say India or Pakistan then you would read it from their perspective? Irrespective, history seems to be less relevant to the younger generations.

Yes, collectively known as valiant human beings, however those referred, would like for a story that showed a white Tommy as standing alone
