#OnThisDay 1607 Hugh O'Neill & 90 of his followers left Ireland from Rathmullan, Donegal in what became known as 'The Flight of the Earls'. They hoped to build an army on the continent & return to Ireland. They never saw home again. O'Neill died in Rome in 1616

First seaside visit of 2024 had to be to my favourite beach in Donegal. Rathmullan will forever have my heart!

Two men have admitted to driving teenager Keane Mulready-Woods to a house in Rathmullan Park,Drogheda where he was murdered and dismembered in Jan 2020.Paul Crosby and Gerard Cruise(photo)will be sentenced next month for facilitating a criminal organisation murder the youth.
