The solution is and always has been obvious: freedom.

Muslim Palestinians in Gaza should be celebrating tonight. Instead, Israel is massacring them.

Israel has kept the horrors of the Nakba ongoing for 76 years, relentlessly oppressing Palestinians and violently stealing their land.

Enough. Palestinians deserve freedom and justice — for the Nakba, and for every act of ethnic cleansing Israel has subjected them to since.

In 1948, Israel killed at least 15,000 Palestinians and displaced over 750,000.

Since October, Israel has killed 33,000+ Palestinians in Gaza and displaced over 1.7 million.

Israel's violence today is a continuation of the Nakba – the colonial violence it was founded on.

This is the Nakba, the catastrophe of 1948: Israel systematically forcing Palestinians out of their homes through acts of violence and intimidation like the massacre of Deir Yassin.

The same logic has driven Israel's brutal oppression of Palestinians ever since.

News of the horrors at Deir Yassin spread quickly across Palestine, terrifying thousands of Palestinians into fleeing their homes for safety.

A month later the state of Israel was established, closing its borders to those Palestinians forever.

That is ethnic cleansing.

Two of the militia leaders who orchestrated the massacre in Deir Yassin, Menachem Begin and Yitzhak Shamir, went on to become Prime Ministers of Israel.

Their militias were succeeded by the Israeli military – still committing atrocity after atrocity against Palestinians today.

On April 9, 1948, Zionist militias massacred the Palestinian town of Deir Yassin. Survivors witnessed rape, mutilation, and the burning of children.

Militias rounded up and paraded the men of Deir Yassin through Jerusalem on trucks before executing them in a nearby quarry.
