Israel barely engaged with the law in the #ICJ hearings today, choosing instead to rally their political supporters. This govt. has decided that compliance with international law is only worthwhile as a PR exercise, and with the right kind of support, it can justify anything.

Absurd and insulting. The ICJ judges are some of the best in the world. To say that an ICJ judge cannot be objective due to their ethnicity and nationality is disgusting and racist, actually.

It's not that the ICJ Gaza hearings aren't important; but a process that's taking months to run its course, when dozens die every single day, doesn't seem very fit for purpose as a means of responding to potential genocide. What will be left of Gaza when a final judgment issues?

What explains Israel's reduced legal representation ICJ? Israel is moving to the tactic of attacking the umpire? As typical of rogue states, is moving to discredit the process because the law is not on its side:

At the ICJ today Israel repeatedly accused South Africa of bringing the case of genocide against them simply because they (South Africa) are an ally of Hamas.

After the court hearing concluded, South Africa explained why that accusation is nonsense.
