I'll be reporting on the successes & failures of Ireland's most outlandish business ideas with Kieran Cuddihy on NewstalkFM at 4.45 this evening, on the back of the plans for Wicklow Airport.

Can you guess what they are from the images below...

Honest to God, I couldn't tell the difference, taste wise, between Barry's and Lyons. Would this be like a French person not being able to tell the difference between a Merlot and a Pinot Noir?

So sorry to hear this news. Such a wonderful podcast, a faithful companion every week over the last 3 years. Tommy, Hector and Laurita made me laugh so much, each with their own brilliant storytelling. Well done guys and you'll be really missed.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is a little young [33] to be playing James Bond, but can grow into the role.

Bond should be 37.

In Ian Fleming's Moonraker, Bond admits he is 'eight years shy' of mandatory retirement age from the 00 section, which is 45 years old.

To apostrophe or not to apostrophe...

The new Clerys isn't using an apostrophe & the Clerys clock has no apostrophe. When it was bought by Michael Clery in 1883, it was named Clery & Co. But it SHOULD be Clery's because the apostrophe denotes possesion. 'Clerys' is meaningless

I'm increasingly uncomfortable with companies using 'great craic' conspiracy theories to leverage a bit of social media favourability. Especially when it's a semi state owned one like Dublin Airport.

Beyond that, this tweet isn't even funny. Pure bandwagon

Paris Olympic organisers have announced the provision of 300,000 free condoms for the 14,250 residents of the Athletes Village.

That's 21 condoms each! Sure there'll hardy be time to throw a javelin at that rate.

Men don't read books by women, listen to music by women or watch sports featuring women

On this we need to ask an uncomfortable question: If men don't consume women's culture, how can they respect them?

Worrying trend of lads using their phones at the urinals. Splashback is a constant threat. Are they photographing their mickeys or texting?

I wonder does anyone ever clean their phones? They must be petri dishes of filth.

If Cillian Murphy wins the Oscar next Sunday he will become just the 3rd Irish-born actor to win one, ending a 34 year wait.

My report for Pat Kenny Newstalk on the extraordinary story of Barry Fitzgerald, Brenda Fricker & the Irish Oscar dream.

This morning at 10.20am on NewstalkFM

Instead of talking about a 'United Ireland', should we instead talk about a 'Re-united Ireland'?

German reunification saw the coming together of two parts of a former whole. How is Ireland different?

Very happy to get the opportunity of filling in for the peerless Seán Defoe on this week's episode of 'Let Me Explain'...

I speak with Mark Durkan & Brendan O'Leary about why we use the term 'United Ireland' instead of a 'Re-united Ireland'
