Lots of fun in Des Moines today. Jenny Simpson was a total natural. We’re not pushing her to retirement anytime soon, but she can join us anytime!

Update: Last one for the night. Big caravan of horse trailers and fire trucks passing our house. Looks like they’re headed home. THANK YOU to BoCo Open Space Boulder Fire-Rescue Boulder Police Dept. and others for all your preparation for a day like today and hard work today. #NCARfire

I’m kind of over the campfire smell for a while, thanks.

Update: from our back yard it looks like the fire has really diminished. Winds are calm. Smoke still continues but much smaller plumes. Be safe Boulder. ❤️ #NCARfire

Update: still at home. Communicating with neighbors with different views of the fire. It *appears* to be staying up along the foothills and traveling South. What could burn between us and the current fire is mostly already burned. Weirdly, that’s probably a good thing. #NCARfire

#NCARFire evacuation areas include 19,000 people and 8,000 homes. The fire is currently at 123 acres and zero containment.

Headed home after a fun weekend. Thanks to the Pac-12 Conference Colorado Buffaloes and my fellow inductees for a really memorable event. (And congrats to our Colorado BuffaloesTrack who crushed #ncaaindoorchamps … my mind and heart were there!)

Update - after 20 days we finally have gas and water!! Meant to move to an apartment today but got delayed by the ice storm (go figure!). It’ll be months, we are told, until we are back in our home. Our connection with neighbors has never been so sincere and strong. #marshallfire

Update - We have been able to be with neighbors and begin the difficult journey of processing our individual and collective tragedies. Also realizing we won’t be home for a long time. Thursday we move to a more permanent place to live with generous friends. #marshallfire
