Mitch Andrews was one of the great early TE's in LSU history. He left LSU in 1985 as the career leader in receptions for a TE with 87 & 2nd in career rec yds by a TE with 865.

Happy 44th birthday to Josh Reed! 2001 Biletnikoff Award winner & All-American. Reed held the LSU record for career rec yds (3,001) until Malik Nabers broke it this past season. Still holds the SEC record for receptions in a game with 19 against Alabama in 2001.

Bernie Moore was born on this day in 1895. Moore led LSU from 1935-47 accumulating 83 wins with a .671 winning percentage. Moore also led LSU to their first 2 SEC titles in 1935 & 36.

Doc Fenton was born on this day in 1887. Probably LSU’s first star, Fenton led the 1908 squad that went undefeated, giving up just 11 points all season. Fenton was inducted into the CFB HOF in 1971.

Happy 83rd birthday to one of the greatest Tigers of all-time, Jerry Stovall. 1962 All-American & 2nd in the Heisman voting, Stovall was also the LSU HC from 1980-83. Stovall was voted into the CFB HOF in 2010.

1997, #14 LSU beats Alabama 27-0 in Tuscaloosa. Kevin Faulk runs for 168 yds & 2 TDs. The LSU defense holds the Tide to 250 yds of total offense, led by Chuck Wiley who had 6 tackles, 3 TFL, 2 sacks & a fumble recovery.

LSU had 6 players drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. The most LSU players ever drafted was 2020 with 14 & then 10 in 2022. 2014 & 2013 both had 9 Tigers taken.

Eugene Daniel was drafted in the 8th Rd, #205 overall by the Colts in 1984. Daniel had 6 career INTs at LSU from 1980-83.

Garry James was the first Tiger drafted in 1986. 2nd Rd, #29 overall. Dalton Hilliard went 2 spots behind him at #31 overall.

With Malik Nabers & Brian Thomas Jr. going in the 1st Rd, it's the 2nd time in LSU history that 2 WRs have been drafted in the 1st Rd. The other occasion was 2007 when Dwayne Bowe & Buster Davis were taken in the 1st Rd. #NFLSU

With Jayden Daniels going #2 in the NFL Draft, LSU now has 5 QBs that have gone in the top 5 picks. Only Notre Dame (7) has more & LSU is tied at 5 w/Stanford. The 4 other QBS are Burrow (2020-1 overall), Russell (2007-1), Bert Jones (1973-2), Y.A. Tittle (1951-3).

The Saints have taken only 2 LSU players in rounds 1-3 in their history. Dalton Hilliard in Rd 2 (31 overall) in 1986 & Devery Henderson in Rd 2 (50 overall) in 2004. The Saints have never taken an LSU player in the 1st Rd...does that change tonight?

Wendell Davis was the first ever LSU WR taken in the 1st round of the NFL Draft. 1988, 27th overall by the Chicago Bears

Today is the birthday of 1964 All-American Tackle, Remi Prudhomme. A member of the famous Chinese Bandits, Prudhomme would go on to a pro career with the Bills, Chiefs and Saints. Prudhomme passed away in 1990 at the age of 48.

Crazy LSU NFL draft fact. The Detroit Lions drafted basketball star Collis Temple Jr. in the 1974 draft as a DE. Temple was taken in the 17th round, #429 overall. Of course Collins is in numerous basketball HOF’s after a stellar career at LSU.

Kenny Davidson was the first LSU draft pick in 1990. He went in the 2nd round, #43 overall.

Happy 57th birthday to the great Harvey Williams! 2,860 career rushing yds, #3 at LSU when he left in 1990. One of the most electrifying RBs in Tiger history!

Abe Mickal was LSU's first ever NFL draft pick. The 53rd overall pick in 1936 to Detroit. Mickal was a 3x All-SEC B at LSU but decided not to pursue a pro football career & instead went to LSU medical school. He was the head professor of LSU's medical school from 1959-1980.

Chevis Jackson. 2007 All-SEC CB, has the 2nd most passes defended in Tiger history with 44 & was a defensive leader on the '07 national championship squad.
