The meeting is part of an excellent collaboration between World Health Organization (WHO) rehabilitation & health financing teams and with Health Systems Strengthening Accelerator.

The meeting is bringing together experts from the worlds of health financing and rehabilitation to discuss core questions of how these two areas can better connect

The aim of the meeting is to summarise country experiences and identify common challenges for the tracking of rehabilitative care expenditure in National Health Accounts.

Aging populations, the rise of non-communicable diseases, and conflict-induced injuries highlight the growing need for accessible rehabilitation services. World Health Organization (WHO) & Health Systems Strengthening Accelerator are paving the way for improved integration of rehab in health financing through collaborative efforts.

There is a plan to develop an World Health Organization (WHO) technical note on this topic in the coming months. This meeting will also facilitate discussion and solicit feedback content and the framing of challenges and guidance to be reflected within the technical note.
