It's #WorldBeeDay ! 🐝 After an amazing workshop on bees with Andrea, some of the pupils involved with My School, My Planet North West have been making bee hotels to create more nesting habitats for solitary bees in their school grounds!

It’s Sefton Park’s 152nd birthday on Monday 20th May 🎉🥳👏🍾🌳

We’re setting up a citizen science station at the cafe by Eros 4.30pm-6pm where we’ll check out tiny life from the park’s watercourse🔍

This is followed by a tree & bee walk 6-7.30pm (it’s also World Bee Day!)

Sefton Park Bat Walk!

Come & join us for a bat walk for Sefton Park's 152nd birthday - Mon 20th May 830-10pm

Our bat expert will guide us with bat detectors to bat haunts of Sefton Park & we'll also feed the new hatchling birds on the lake.

Thankful of the rain this evening to clear the air and water the trees and plants.

As the dark clouds moved over, picknickers packed away in Sefton Park so the gulls and crows moved in looking for morsels 🍗

A big thank you to Bootle Toolshed for making these wonderful bee hotel frames for the children at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Primary School to fill and decorate. Andrea inspired the children to create more nesting habitats for solitary bees in their school grounds! Learning through Landscapes #myschoolmyplanet

Finally got round to first checks!

It’s the iNaturalist #CityNatureChallenge 26-29th April where citizen scientists ID & record a many different bird, insect, plant , amphibian, fungi etc species possible on the iNaturalist free app.
