Enjoyed watching Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour BBC Arts start off in Venice, and it made me think of one of my favourite artworks in the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery collection: The Piazza of Saint Mark's, Venice by William Logsdail 1883.

I love this portrait of Jane Morris by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, 1871. It's Rossetti's birthday today! Born 12 May 1828. 🎂

I first 'discovered' the Pre-Raphaelites as a teenager at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, so I had to go to their exhibition. Wonderful to see new works and old favourites. And I especially loved that the audio guide focused on the women of the Pre-Raphaelite movement.
