Another shout for this if you missed it late last night. ⬇️

Even in victory, Matt Taylor was also keen to save a word for Tempest United, with both teams contributing to a great final and advert for West Lancashire League football.

Thoroughly enjoyed being able to cover it πŸ™Œ

FULL-TIME: CMB FC 3-1 Tempest United

CMB ARE YOUR 2023/24 RICHARDSON CUP CHAMPIONS.

Goals from Anthony Hough, William Owen and Charlie Scholes seal the trophy, despite a late Tom Booth penalty.

Congratulations to Matt Taylor and Co. πŸ‘πŸ»

90’: GOALLL TEMPEST UNITED!

Well there’s one back!

Jack Morris is brought down in the box, and Tom Booth slots the resulting penalty calmly into the far corner.

82’: GOALLL CMB!

3-0 it is now, and surely that seals it?

It’s another beauty of a goal, too, as substitute Charlie Scholes bends a free-kick beautifully into the top corner.

HALF-TIME: CMB FC 2-0 Tempest United

Pretty much the dream half for CMB, who find themselves two up thanks to early goals from Anthony Hough and William Owen, and have had much of the play throughout the first 45.

Plenty for Tempest to do after the break.

18’: GOALLLLL CMB!

It’s 2-0 now here in Leyland.

A bit of a scramble ensues after a corner, and it looks like William Owen is the man to eventually turn it home.

The Tempest players seem unhappy about something, but the goal stands.

10’: GOALLLLL CMB!

Anthony Hough hits the first goal of tonight’s final.

Having shown great tenacity to initially win the ball back, the ball eventually fell to Hough on the edge of the area, who unleashes a lovely strike into the top corner.

Some mixed emotions on Saturday, as my six-month stint helping out the media team Atherton Collieries came to an end.
Can’t thank enough the players, colleagues and supporters who were so welcoming.
Not the season anyone wanted, but plenty of reason to be hopeful of brighter days ahead. 🏁
