Chantelle 🦇 Yes I do. The replies are to your response not my poll though. My poll was worded neutrally as I was interested in gathering information. You replied with a stated view (and used the term trolls pre-emptively) on a polemic subject - so you're going to get polemic responses I'm

'bioenergy systems produce direct emissions, which is the position that we need to move away from'

Is it? Aren't *net* emissions the critical factor? We seem to have accepted 'net' as being valid for Net Zero.

What if direct emissions are actually *less* than indirect ones?

This is genuinely quite interesting,. regardless of your own position. I'd also be interested in split by public sector/private sector/third sector, and by industry types. In my experience it's rare in engineering, much more common in legal field.

The huge unsatisfied demand for crofts, smallholdings and allotments across Scotland speaks for itself. We want to be a 'Good Food Nation'. Let's do it...

Woodland Crofts Kate Forbes MSP This is a disingenuous statement from the SG spokesperson. There is no universal ban, but there is a degree of restriction on new builds such as amounts to a ban for such as woodland croft homes that would use their wood (and more traditionally, hand cut peat) as a primary fuel.

Is this a multi-layer whoosh?
I'm too tired for this, especially if it turns out to be some sort of 'edgy' arts project/commentary on social media in 2024.

Journalist “Do you think the new build heat standard for homes is a valid piece of policy underpinned by science?”

Minister “I’ve see far too many criticisms of it so far to be able to say that”

I can agree that the Green MSPs have had an impact quite disproportionate to their numbers (and by extension their popular support). Whether that has been a positive impact is a quite separate question.

Ukraine is claiming to have damaged a Russian warship which was launched in 1913, the year before the start of the First World War!

Astonishingly, this ship must have been used in the navy of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and now the Russian Federation.

If you're an expert on a topic that has become controversial (paediatrics, discrimination law, biology etc) you face a choice between doing your job in the face of extreme hostility or allowing a spread of misinformation/the collapse of your field for the sake of a peaceful life

I would also encourage people to contact their MSPs, and ask them to take an evidence based, risk-mitigating approach.
Time's up for ideology-over-science.
