Bad news: one of New England’s funkiest and most unique ski areas will not operate for the 2023-24 ski season. Black Mountain is in a really tough neighborhood, surrounded by better-capitalized neighbors. Hopefully not the end of this place.

Recognizing the possible confusion caused by this morning's post from Black Mountain , we want to clarify that we're going strong & are open for business. We were disheartened to hear their news & our thoughts are with their ski family.

Mysterious Utility David G NE Ski Journal Black Mountain Oh I'm aware. Just 1 of many nails in the coffin. Used to LOVE it there, as I did Tyrol. Knew they were headed for big trouble soon when it required a 'community paint day' last year to restore the old J-bar.

Didn't... quite come out like one might've hoped either.
