That’s where Hank enters the story. Hes a big boy who doesn’t get on with other male dogs. Hes had his own issues in life. As soon as Essy came in today he sat right beside her. He never ever sits here in the house. (5/7)

She was so bad I brought her to my house. It just means air conditioning, she can sleep by my bed and a better standard of care. Also I worry about her dying alone so it puts the mind at ease if she’s with me (4/7)

She’s lost all power in her back legs, had a fever and can’t move. We have all sorts of tests and vet trips. It could be anything from cancer to being paralyzed from ticks. The outlook is not good. I had her in the office at the land as we try everything 24/7 for her (3/7)

Essy and Hank have never met before. Her time might not be long on this earth but Hank knows his job and jumps straight into it.

We’ll do everything for her in the next 24-48 hours but right now Essy is comfortable with her but new friend Hank 🥰🙏 (7/7)

Essy has barely been eating or drinking. As soon as she got here with Hank she started doing both again. He hasn’t moved once in about 2 hours. He just sits there gentle with her watching and being a calming presence. Hank knows she is very sick (6/7)

Looking after sick street dogs is tough with lots of knocks but today a beautiful little story to warm the heart.

Dog always surprise me in so many positive ways and that’s no different than with Hank and Essy today (1/7) 🧵

Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.

He snarled, tried to bite and warned us off at first. Today big Pablo was all smiles, loves his walk and even enjoys belly and head rubs 🥰🙏

It’ll be a couple more days until he’s back but to say I’m exited to see Billy and for him to see all of us for the first time would be an understatement.

He’s come a long way since the badly beaten up little boy we found. Love you Billy 🥰🥰 (3/3)

All the other dogs are safely in their little pens and cages but the staff love Billy so much he has free pass to explore their areas. His little eyes are still healing but it looks like full sight restored in one and partial in the other (2/3)

Billy has been resting up today after his operation. He’s up at a hospital which is 800km away but the news is all good… (1/3)

We never know who will draw in apps and sometimes we are surprised by who doesn’t. Some of our other pups are getting 4-5 apps…not a single one for Miss Rayne 😢 .

We will obviously get to work on his weight next. I’m hopeful that it was mainly down to being so immobile with his huge growth. He’s lost a big chunk of weight already after the mass was removed.

In fairness the weight loss can wait he’s been through enough in 24 hours (4/5)

He was walking everywhere today. Totally unlike the week when he was like a vegetable sitting in the one spot very down. It’s like he has a whole new lease of life. I had to put him away for his own good for a big test as it’s too hot (3/5)

What a difference 24 hours makes. Pablo is up and about today after his operation. His recovery has been super fast.

He’s acting like a new dog today with the 5kg / 10 lbs mass removed (1/5) 🧵

Sometimes (not always) dogs know when you are helping them. Pablo knows today. He feels different and now knows what the humans were doing.

I’d love to just be inside his head today and feeling how he does. He must be so relieved 🥰🙏 (5/5)
