[Update] The Commission for Gender Equality has told #KayaNews that arguments over testosterone regulations at the European Court of Human Rights have been submitted.

#CasterSemenya is challenging the requirement to lower her testosterone levels in order to compete.

Caster Semenya said Wednesday's hearing at the European Court of Human Rights on whether the double Olympic champion can be required to lower her testosterone levels to compete was an 'important day' as her costly legal marathon entered its last lap.

This engagement was aimed at strengthening stakeholder relationships and to align strategies on the promotion and protection of the rights of farm workers, particularly women.

Commissioner Sandra Makoasha, together with the Western Cape Provincial Office, met with the Commission for Gender Equality and Fairtrade Africa to discuss human rights and women on farms.

Caster Semenya is in the European Court of Human Rights where the Court is hearing an appeal by Switzerland. The case concerns her complaint about certain regulations of World Athletics requiring her to take hormone treatment to decrease her natural testosterone levels.
