Rather than 'complex and varied' the reason people turn to food banks is simple and singular: lack of income to afford food.
We need to urgently see more #CashFirst responses including the continuation of the #HouseholdSupportFund so that no one needs to turn to charity to eat.

In 2024 we are setting up a New Canteen Culture Working Group at Business in Society, bringing together stakeholders from across the UK to imagine how public dining models can address food security and sustainability, and bring pleasure and conviviality to the masses.
