Today I handed over six boats by donated by UNICEF Nigeria and generously funded by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance to the Bayelsa State government.
These boats will be a lifeline for children in riverine communities, ensuring timely medical care and immunizations to ensure no child is left behind.

Reflecting on #Chibok , I urge action to protect our children - implement safe school standards, address infrastructure gaps and prioritize child protection in policies and budgets.
This will ensure children's right to education in a safe environment.

Relieved to see the abducted school children are back.
UNICEF is supporting the government by providing psychosocial support to these children and their families, aiming to facilitate their return to normalcy and learning!
Most importantly, we need schools to be safe.

Today, we solemnly remember Dr. Kachi Izuogu, a cherished UNICEF colleague lost in the tragic attack on March 1, 2018, in Rann, Borno State along with three other aid workers.
