We'd really like to speak to someone in Northern Ireland who has received a demand to pay back Carer's Allowance because they inadvertently went over the weekly earnings cap. If this is you and you'd be happy to talk, please get in touch below or via [email protected].
Delivering a Carer's Allowance Recognition Payment would put £540 per year more in the pockets of people who rely on Carer's Allowance in Northern Ireland.

Thanks to Sinéad McLaughlin MLA for raising Carers NI’s research on paid carer’s leave with Economy NI.

Thanks to Robbie Butler MLA for highlighting the enormous impact of loneliness on unpaid carers and the multi-faceted drivers of carer loneliness during yesterday's Assembly debate.
Greater access to respite and replacement care are critical to tackling loneliness among carers.
Thankyou to all the MLAs who spoke in support of the motion today. The Assembly agreed we urgently need a cross-departmental, fully funded strategy to tackle loneliness.

Thanks to Robbie Butler MLA for highlighting the disproportionate impact of loneliness on unpaid carers. Nearly 1 in 3 carers in Northern Ireland say they feel lonely always or often and issues like access to replacement care and financial strain are big drivers of that.
Thanks to Sorcha Eastwood MLA for backing our campaign for paid carer's leave in the Assembly today.
Our analysis shows this policy could save Stormont £millions in welfare payments and bring massive benefits to carers, employers and the economy. Read more: carersuk.org/media/hwoi0kwi…
We've signed this letter supporting the call for Economy Minister Conor Murphy to include paid carer's leave in the Employment Rights Bill ⬇️
Many carers of stroke survivors have to change their working pattern or leave work altogether, which can leave them worried about finances. We are supporting this call for Economy Minister Conor Murphy to include paid carer's leave in his pending Employment Rights Bill.
