Super proud of our brilliant year 13 students who completed all their coursework in composition & compositional techniques& recitals this week but also managed to perform brilliantly at their end of school assembly. The double yellow lines are a fantastic band of the future.

After their placement with Ridge on our World of Work day working on stadium design, 20 Year 12 are enjoying a social trip to watch Oxford United FC Vs Lincoln City. Awesome atmosphere!

The Cherwell School Sixth Form

Our Year 13 Economists are deep into a practice paper as part of their Springboard extension programme, a Spring Term series of seminars facilitated by former students and designed to help them think independently, critically and apply their knowledge in new contexts.

All 330 Year 12 enjoyed their second 'World of Work' day, spending the morning in small groups with 20 employers from a range of sectors, 'trying on' a career with a facilitated hands-on placement task and learning about the challenges, opportunities and importance of their work.

What an amazing night for The Cherwell School GCSE Dancers at Matthew Bourne 💙’s Edward Scissorhands ✂️ The choreography, set and costumes were unbelievable and the students absolutely loved it! So inspiring 🩰

Thanks to Bodleian Education, Patience Agbabi, Creation Theatre and Professor Marion Turner for an exciting evening of #ChaucerNow Bodleian Libraries, with a lecture, performances and Q&A on Chaucer remixed, sharing playfulness, reclaiming silences and listening with intent.

Ten Year 12s joined other young people across the UK and Germany to consider sustainable food in a virtual youth workshop with UK-German Connection and Globe From Home - a great chance to explore regional variations within important shared international issues.

A massive thank you to Mark and Miles from Squire Stage Combat for delivering amazing workshops to the entirety of The Cherwell School Y9s. All students learned how to produce high-quality and safe stage combat sequences. Well done to all involved!

Thank you to ex-student Grace Whitty for delivering a brilliant drama workshop to A Level Drama students to complement their practical component based on Kneehigh Theatre. Grace is currently training at the Ecole Phillippe Gaulier in Paris and we are extremely grateful to her 🎭

The Cherwell School's production of 'The Crucible' at The North Wall is now finished but what an unbelievable group of students who took this complex and challenging text and brought it to life on the stage. Here are just some photos from the evening, well done all of you!

Oxford Mutual Aid We had so much fun putting them together! We're fortunate to be in a position to help and glad we could do something small to contribute to our local community and the vital work you do every day.

Whilst Year 12 were busy wrapping boxes for our Christmas appeal, Year 13's festive volunteering was a little more lively: organising, supervising and tidying up Year 7's Winter Festival stalls... Lots of excitement, creativity and festive buzz!

Our Year 12 'Changemakers' did an incredible job galvanising volunteers to put together Christmas boxes for Oxford Mutual Aid for 'Cherwell Gives Back'. We can't wait for Santa (Ms Dorn...) to deliver them and we hope they bring others as much joy as they brought us creating them!
