May is #MilitaryAppreciationMonth . Today, we highlight #PWCPD First Sergeant Yost.
Prior to #PWCPD , FSGT Yost was in the U.S. Army for four years & was in seven countries. He served from 1987-1991.
Thank you for your dedication & sacrifice, FSGT Yost, as soldier & police officer.

The Board of County Supervisors today proclaimed May 12-18 as #NationalPoliceWeek & #NationalPeaceOfficersMemorialDay on May 15. This has deep significance for #PWCPD as it pays tribute to our fallen officers.

Officers will focus attention on vehicle, #pedestrian & bicycle violations that contribute to these types of crashes: speeding, running red lights or stop signs & driving w/out headlights at times of reduced visibility.

AMAZING STUDENTS! The National Junior Honor Society of #SaundersMiddle held a schoolwide #TeddyBear drive. They collected 463 brand-new bears for donation to #PWCPD & PWC Fire & Rescue. The bears will be given out by first responders to #children in difficult situations. Thank you!

4 officers graduated from the Option 5 Out-of-State Lateral Program today at the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Training Academy in Chantilly, VA. Each officer brings years of experience from fellow law enforcement agencies & we hope you will join us in welcoming them to #PWCPD .

A memorial & #tribute service for #fallen law enforcement officers who lived/served, in PWC – will be held on May 6, at 7PM at Grace Life Community Church in Bristow. This free annual event is open to the public & is sponsored by the PWC Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association.
