It's been one month since this unimaginable tragedy. From the earliest hours, Marylanders have united to support the families of those we lost and to clear the channel so we can reopen the Port and rebuild the bridge. 

Together, we have made much progress. Much more work ahead.

This is an important step on the road to free and fair elections and, ultimately, stability in Haiti — which continues to be ravaged by horrific violence.

The U.S. must continue to support humanitarian relief efforts and those responsible for violence must be held accountable.

This wouldn't have been possible without tireless effort from USACE Baltimore, U.S. Coast Guard and the entire Unified Command who have worked 24/7 to clear portions of this channel.

And nonstop work continues to clear and reopen the full channel and Port!

Women's lives have already been imperiled by the denial or delay of emergency reproductive care. It's shameful.
